Parking Sarajevo Centar

Sarajevo's city centre — from Marijin Dvor along Ferhadija towards Old Town — is where offices, shopping centres and government buildings concentrate. Between shopping-mall garages, metered street zones and private spots, this is how to choose where to park in Centar.

Garages and shopping centre parking

The biggest garages in the centre belong to the shopping malls: Sarajevo City Center (SCC) at Marijin Dvor has over 1,100 underground spaces (first hour 3 KM, every next hour 2 KM), BBI Centar sits right on the main square, and Alta Shopping Center is across the street from SCC. They are the safest bet on weekdays, but queues form on rainy weekends.

Street parking in Centar falls under Zone 1 (2 KM/h) at parkomat machines, covering 74 streets — convenient for a quick errand, expensive for a full day.

For a whole working day or several days, a private spot in a courtyard or garage around Mejtaš, Ciglane or Skenderija usually works out cheaper than any garage, and you keep the same spot all day. During events at Koševo stadium or Skenderija, private spots are often the only realistic option.

Parking u centru Sarajeva (Bosanski)

Tips

Garages beat street parking for 3+ hours

Zone 1 street parking at 2 KM/h with no daily cap gets expensive fast — a garage or private daily rate wins for anything longer than a coffee.

Match days at Koševo

On football match and concert days, everything around Koševo stadium and Ciglane fills hours in advance. Reserve a private spot or park at Marijin Dvor and walk.

Ferhadija is pedestrian

The main street itself is walking-only. Park at Marijin Dvor or near the Cathedral and cover the whole centre on foot in 15 minutes.

Weekday mornings are tightest

Commuters take Centar spots by 9 AM. Outside working hours (evenings, Sundays) street parking is noticeably easier.
